Orthogonal Art was a collaborative art project developed by the artists Robert Rauschenberg, Jasper Johns and Merce Cunningham in 1963. The project was based on the idea of using different art forms to create a unified composition. In Orthogonal Art, Rauschenberg created a series of paintings that were based on the orthogonal grid, while Johns created a series of sculptures that were based on the square. Cunningham created a series of dance movements that were based on the same grid pattern.
